I remember this as if it were yesterday. It was a Saturday night in the fall of 1999. My husband D and I were out hitting a few of the regular bars, and before heading home we stopped at one last bar. It was a sports bar in Escondido, a few miles from where we […]
Kathy stood by the front door of Cox Shoe Store waiting for the last few customers of the day leave. It was almost five o’clock and she had a lot to do before Mark picked her up to go to the movies, but as luck would have, at five to five another customer walked through […]
I could hear the bang, but was it in my dream or was someone knocking on my door. Took me a second to realize it was the door. Getting up I could see that the thunderstorm that they had said would be coming has started. Looking thru the peephole I saw it was Allie. One […]
She slammed her hand on the countertop. “What do you mean, there’s no reservation? Rhianne Fitzgerald, PhD. I made the reservation a month ago.” “Sorry miss,” said the harried clerk behind the counter. “I’ve got one room left with a king sized bed. I can give you a cot.” It was late afternoon, and a […]
My wife and I were invited to go sailing on Lake Erie on a small 24′ cabin cruiser. It was just the captain, his first mate and the two of us. It was understood that my wife, Victoria, would play the part of “eye candy” for any on-lookers in the harbor by wearing her very […]
It was a boring evening. All I was doing was stare at the television in a blue funk. The Mets were losing; crime was up, and much like my love life, the stock market sucked. Nothing new or exciting. And then the telephone rang. I answered it to a woman on the other end. “Hello,” […]
At age 65, I retired, ending a 45-year obsession with work. I had always thought that this would be the time when I should try again to form some kind of romantic relationship, and I took up reading the personal ad- vertisements. Nothing much came of this, as no one I was interested in seemed […]

“Babe, do you know where my new pair of red panties went?” I asked, taking the last of the laundry out of the basket and folding it. Nick looked up from his computer. “Uhm, no? Are you sure you put them in the hamper?” I looked around with a frown. “Pretty sure. This is the […]
The sun was going down and the air was getting cool as the fairy lights above their table flicked on. Jess and Ben were sitting at a table of 8 amongst 12 other tables, all full of guests. It was Jess’ childhood best friend’s wedding – Jess hadn’t even expected to be invited, but she […]
There is a wide world out there, old myths are told and retold enough times that details eventually get totally distorted. Creatures of mythology are reused in countless adaptations that add layer after layer of misconceptions about what the creatures actually are. Modern adaptions that compete about what kind of stupid ideas for the mystical […]
Warm sun beats down on your backs as you walk hand in hand down rough concrete steps through the tall pine trees towards the small wooden building. Taking off your shoes you open the door to a golden room with a log burner in one corner and two tiered wooden benches along the back wall. […]
She is his dream. He walks past her house every day and every day he thinks of stopping. A block before her house he slows, the thickening fantasy of her nearness making his legs heavy. He strolls past her window, trying not to be too conspicuous in his attempt to see through the narrow gap […]
We were close but nothing more then occasional flirting had happened. I felt pretty comfortable around you and am not all that shy about my body with you because we have shared a few summers as friends and you have seen me numerous times in bathing suits etc. Over the last few months you had […]
I was 21 years old when I decided to finally try sex with another girl. I had thought about it since I was a pre-teen, but had never had the courage to attempt anything, mainly because I was afraid the word would get out all over town. A little background info: My parents were in […]
